Adhesive Curing

ADHESIVE CURING

Adhesive curing is the process of converting the adhesive from the liquid state to the solid sate. Certain adhesives cure by the application of heat.

Heat curing adhesives require high temperature for a certain time period to be cured. Heat cured adhesives provide very high strength, heat resistance and chemical resistance.

There are 3 main materials that are used to make heat curing adhesives.

a) Epoxy resin
b) Phenol Formaldehyde resin
c) Urethane

As compared to heating by conventional tubular heaters or thermic fluid, IR offers quick heating thereby reducing the oven length and increasing line speed.
